Black Silk
I filled up my cup, with diamonds and rust
I filled up my cup, these bones they turned to dust
I walk in these shoes, oh just like you do
I walk in these shoes, oh just like you do
Unveiling the child within
Before the grace of your sin
And Lucifer has made a bed,
For wicked words to rest themselves in
Go to sleep and we’ll all give in
Black silk, wrapped around your neck
And a cutthroat ilk behind your back
The crimson moon, undresses you
And you lay face down with your heart on the ground
For the devil has made his round
Oh oh oh
Mother, he’s got me up against the wall
Fading into a line so small
I heard you say, I died that day
And I lay face down, with my heart on the ground
For the devil had made his round
Oh oh oh
This is a totally mesmerizing album. It;s really special, and feels like a beautiful melancholic painting (if that makes any sense). Amongst singer-songwriters, very few have such a distinctive style of there own. richardschouten
I can't say enough about this singer/songwriter. This older LP is totally immersive from first track to last, with Emily's voice at a mesmerizing front and center. I didn't pick a fav track bc it's too hard. They're all great. Eric Van Lustbader
